- decreased performance – when you give up carbohydrates, all cells in the body slow down, tone and energy disappear. This also affects endurance and strength, which decreases, and combining training with such diets becomes difficult for the body.

Types of carbohydrates
Carbohydrates are organic substances that are part of the tissues of all living beings. These compounds enter our body mainly from foods of plant origin.
There are two types of carbohydrates: simple (fast) and complex (slow). The first are the most dangerous for those who are interested in losing weight. They enter the body along with white bread, sweets, various pastries, white rice, honey, corn, and soda. Once inside, such carbohydrates are quickly broken down and enter the bloodstream. There is a release of energy, provoked by a sharp jump in sugar. You feel full, but this satiety quickly passes. The memory of the pleasure received remains, so we again want to eat, preferably something sweet. This is how addiction occurs. All this easily leads to an excess of fat reserves in the body.
Slow carbohydrates are broken down gradually, due to which the absorption of sugar into the blood takes a very long time. Thus, hunger is suppressed for a long time, and energy continues to be produced.
The disadvantage of foods rich in slow carbohydrates is that digesting them puts a lot of stress on the digestive system. Therefore, it is very advisable to eat them in the first half of the day. Slow carbohydrates are found in vegetables, cereals and pasta.
What other foods are low in carbohydrates?
- Sweets. There are no absolutely carbohydrate-free products in this category, but there are some with minimal content. These include: marshmallows - 100 g contains 70 g, marmalade - 76 g, honey - 81.5 g, dark chocolate - 46 g.
- Coconut oil. A carbohydrate-free product rich in fatty acids, which speed up the metabolic process.
- Walnuts. Eating nuts will saturate your body with omega-3 fatty acids. 7.5 g contains 1 g.
- Chicken eggs. One unit contains about 0.5 g.
- Extra virgin olive oil. Completely carb-free and one of the healthiest oils.
- Flour and cereals. You should not completely abandon these products, but give preference to unrefined cereals, wholemeal flour and legumes.
- Beverages. Recommended for consumption are herbal tea, coffee without sugar, and unsweetened fruit juices diluted with water.
- Herbs, spices and seasonings. All greens, spinach and lettuce are good for the gut and are low carb. The exceptions are ginger root and garlic, but they are consumed in small quantities.
Following a long-term diet based on the consumption of foods that do not contain carbohydrates is contraindicated. It is necessary to increase the consumption of vegetables, cereals, unsweetened fruits and exclude baked goods, sugar and products made from white flour. The applicant or members of the public may submit comments to the Commission within 30 days of publication. Within three months of receiving the Authority's opinion, the Commission shall submit to the Committee referred to in Article 22(2) a draft decision on the lists of permitted health claims, taking into account the opinion of the Authority, all relevant provisions of Community law and other legitimate factors relevant to the case under consideration. If the draft decision does not correspond to the opinion of the Authority, the Commission explains the difference of opinion.
